‘’I didn’t just want to open a college –I wanted to create a place where young people and women feel seen, supported, and strong. Future Success was born out of the belief that every learner deserves a second chance, and that skills can unlock futures.

I believe that every person-no matter their background-deserves a chance to rise.

At Future Success and Ubuntu, we equip young people and women with knowledge, confidence, and tools they need to build a better future-for themselves and for South Africa.

Meet Our Founder & CEO: Mrs. Mahlanyane Maria Lizzy

At the heart of Future Success Skills Academy and Ubuntu Youth Skills Development stands a visionary leader- Maria Lizzy Mahlanyane, a passionate educator, community builder, and advocate for youth and women empowerment.

Two Visions. One Purpose. To create, empowering space for orphans, youth, women, and the unemployed people to learn, grow, and succeed. With a passion for education and social change, she has dedicated her career to helping others unlock their full potential through accessible, theoretical and practical learning.

From Humble Beginnings to Community Impact

Raised in a township where access to education was limited, Maria Lizzy Mahlanyane personally witnessed how poverty, lack of access, and social inequality limited the dreams of many young people and women.

After years of working in mining industry and went to work in education, she decided it was time to take action. In year 2016, Maria Lizzy Mahlanyane founded Future Success Skills Academy as private college and started operation in 08/01/2018 and year 2021 founded Ubuntu Youth Skills Development as an NPC & NPO-not just as a learning Centre, but as a beacon of hope.

Starting from four small classrooms,1 Laptop, no funders and no salaries to pay her employees. The academy was born out of struggle, but built with hope.

The academy has now empowered hundreds of learners through NATED, Achieved N Diplomas, Matric Rewrite Support, drop out from Grade 8-12 students to train them skills, Rehabilitation and mentorship.

Sustainability Through Passion, Not Funding

Since its founding, Future Success Skills Academy and Ubuntu Youth Skills Development has been built through dedication, community support, and resilience. Although we received funding once from a single company, we have not received ongoing financial support.

We’re proud of what we’re achieved through commitment, volunteer efforts, and the belief that change is possible-even without constant funding.
